Has anyone noticed how aggressive John McCain's allegedly exploratory presidential campaign is being? He's sending fundraising appeals (PDF) and running Google ads already:
The biography (PDF) on his exploratory site also offers some interesting clues to the stances he may take in the campaign. For instance, it does not mention the losing issue of private accounts in Social Security, stating instead that "John McCain is determined to save Social Security once and for all by stopping the politicians from raiding Social Security funds to pay for new government programs and wasteful spending." He didn't mention private accounts (PDF) in his recent speech to the Republican group GOPAC either. Will other Republican contenders also run away from the issue after seeing President Bush's proposal go down in flames?
