Nice, succinct entry. I think the timidity and qualification which characterizes the Democrat's response to warrantless NSA activities just invites mischaracterization and smug attacks.

I don't think Democrats will be galvanized until they discover that calls made by Dean from his plane during the 2004 campaign were ordered to be intercepted and recorded. Or maybe it will take the arrest of an agent from the Directorate of Operations while breaking into Dean's present office at the DNC. But if something like that were to happen, maybe they'd just retreat further for fear that Rove might invoke the old "if he was being investigated, then it must have been for a reason" argument.
