One of Kristof's reasons for opposing an immediate pullout from Iraq is that it would be damaging to America's influence around the world. One would think it might occur to a liberal columnist with Iraq for his subject that the world would be better off with some contraction of American influence--certainly as it is exerted by Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney.
