The fact that people like this regularly get elected and re-elected, over and over again, says a lot about our current system of electing people to office.

Is it the system, or is it Montana Republicans that are the problem?

This man has been sticking his foot in his mouth for over a decade, at least... and he still gets into office. What does that say about the people putting him there?

I'd rather ask what does it say about other candidates. When a dumbhead like that gets elected and re-elected, it may have something to do with even poorer competitors.

I live here in Montana where most are very sick of our Junior Senator. He keeps being re-elected because there is a certain segment up here that like his good 'ol boy approach as well as a dearth of solid democrats to oppose him. That has changed. John Morrison, our State Auditor has won two state-wide elections. John Tester, an organic farmer and house majority leader is also in the deomocratic party. Morrison seems to have the edge in many important ways, though I prefer tester. Either could easily beat burns and would be a significant improvement.
