Sadly those who peddle the myth that vaccinations cause autism seem to be ignoring the fact that just a few days ago, "Lancet" retracted an article published by Andrew Wakefield and a number of colleagues in 1998, which claimed that research evidence supported the hypothesis that vaccination for some childhood diseases played a causal role in the development of autism. http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/child-myths/201002/the-bicker-wakefield-the-real-reasons-why-lancet-was-right-retract

The withdrawal was due to both ethical problems and the study's design flaws.
