I am Professor in the Department of Government at Dartmouth College. I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Political Science at Duke University and have served as a RWJ Scholar in Health Policy Research and a faculty member in the Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. I think it's no coincidence that 2 of these tweets involve dumb op-eds in the NY Times. Much of the blame goes to Pinch Sulzburger, who, I understand, exercises personal control over the opinion pages. The Times has a choice of virtually any pundit in the world. It's a pity that they provide this valuable space to lightweights.
