Of course, Tea Party members actually stand for limiting the size of government, the amount of government spending, and taxes. Ideally, they'd like to roll government back to where it was a couple of years ago.

So, how effective is it to paint them as Nazis, racists, radicals, extremists or even terrorists? Although these are awful charges, they're so baseless and preposterous that as people learn more about the Tea Parties, these charges ought to lose all effectiveness. OTOH if the New York Times and other mainstream media keep the charges alive, I suppose a certain number of people will believe them.

well, firstly, a nazi swastika wants to be turning to the right... just like the tea party (just saying they'd like the country to turn to the right, too...)
